About 9 years ago I had reconstructive surgery on both my left and right knee. Over the years things have gotten progressively bad. I was referred to Dr. Langer by a close friend. During my first visit I was extremely impressed with Dr. Langer's office and staff. I can easily say this was/is the nicest facility I have ever seen. Dr. Langer spent a good bit of time with me getting to know what was bothering me, what my symptoms were, what activities I was participating in, etc. I was mainly complaining about instability which is a sure sign that I have re-torn my ACL. After tearing an ACL once you will never forget that feeling. I knew before going to see Dr. Langer that surgery was in my future. After Dr. Langer took a look at my knees he proceeded to discuss my options with me. Being that he is an orthopedic surgeon I was sure that he was going to suggest surgery right away. Actually he started talking about physical therapy as an option to strengthen muscles that will improve my stability. Needless to say I opted to go with the surgery. I am only three weeks out from my first surgery but I feel very good. I can already walk with no crutches and I feel a great deal of stability in my new knee. I would highly recommend Dr. Langer to anyone that feels that surgery is in their future.

If you are looking for a knee surgeon, or more specifically, someone to do an ACL replacement, look no further than Dr. Langer. After a very informative meeting with him regarding my options, and seeking a second opinion that would have left me in a brace for the rest of my life at 35, I chose Dr. Langer. Needless to say, I didn't make it easy on him when I came in with my 4 pages of questions, some of which asked him questions regarding his character and past practices. He was able to prove past a shadow of a doubt that I was in good hands to do the surgery. Here I am, a year and a half later, all healed, PTed, and I'm back to all normal activity. The surgery went amazing. Both ACL and 2 meniscus cleanups were performed beautifully and in under 45 minutes. Dr. Langer is a rockstar and I found his team knowledgeable and friendly with great bedside manner. With all this said, I DID THE WORK! Pre-op PT, 6 months post-op PT (anytime I missed, I did it at home and stayed in touch with my PT team), PT continued at home while I progressed to new exercises for the following year, and I'm still sitting while I work and working on straightening my leg and improving that quad muscle. It has paid off!

As a former college football player I found my knees in my 30s were not what they were in my 20s. I was bone on bone in my knee with a cartilage defect. I did some doctor shopping because I didn't like what other ortho docs in Atlanta were wanting to do... micro-fracturing... So my search led me to Dr. Langer who was the team ortho doc for the Atlanta Falcons and the Thrashers. In my mind I thought if this guy is doing it for the pros who need to get back into the game to make their money then he would have me back to running in no time! The experience going with Doctor Phillip Langer was incredible. Not only was he my doctor but he could relate to me as a person. Let me also state that I live in California and traveled across the country to continue rehab under his guidance. I could not find the level of expertise in any ortho doctor in all of Los Angeles. That is no joke. So for all of my additional procedures I fly all the way across the country to have the level of care that only Dr. Langer can provide.

Dr. Langer did an excellent job on my shoulder. I would strongly recommend him. After years of pain, and ultimately inability to swing a golf club, I finally went in to see him. We tried several non-surgical procedures, due to my reluctance to surgery, including physical therapy, stretching, and anti-inflammatory medicine. After several weeks, no luck. I still had pain, surgery was inevitable. Dr. Langer performed arthroscopic surgery (bicep tenotomy and cleaned out my shoulder). He was extremely helpful in post-operative care and consultation during physical therapy, and had me back to normal activity (including golf) within 6 weeks. Three years later, I have no issues with my shoulder. I am actively playing golf, working out, and lifting weights with no pain. Thanks Dr. Langer. I couldn't have done it without you.

Dr. Langer was recommended to me by a friend for my daughter's sesamoiditis. He treated her and referred her for orthotics to prevent any further complications. Ironically, less than a month later... I became his patient. Dr. Langer has performed two surgeries on me, one for broken tib/fib, and one for bone grafting. He keeps a close watch on my healing as well as having me in therapy. I also recommended my Dad see him for shoulder surgery. Dr. Langer performed his surgery and he is doing well and feeling great. My husband sees him as well for tennis elbow. We've all been pleased with our treatment and follow up. Dr. Langer will research the problem and if needed discuss with colleagues to ensure the best possible outcome for his patients. After a car accident last year, I was referred to Dr. Langer for my shoulder repair. I was quite impressed with his knowledge, experience, and efficiency. All my questions were answered immediately. The staff immersed themselves in my procedure, treatment, and recovery. There is a short review/survey they ask you to fill out after each visit. Some people don't understand that, and complain about similar reviews every other day. While in surgery, Dr. Langer was able to evaluate, and upon investigation was able to determine what I needed, and properly treat my shoulder without any unnecessary hardware. Approximately 1.5 years ago I developed acute hip pain after a sports injury, resulting in excruciating pain and inability to function on a daily basis, let alone drive or even walk. MRI illustrated a complete labral tear and FAI. I underwent arthroscopic repair by Dr. Langer and did remarkably well. I am currently able to exercise (running, plyos, strength training, extreme fitness conditioning) without limitations or pain. Dr. Langer is positive, professional and makes sure he fully understands the entire process. He has been providing ongoing ortho consultation for chronic pain which can be quite debilitating. Dr. Langer gave me recommendations on how to proceed and followed up to make sure the positive results were being achieved. Surgery was a success. My left knee is fully functional again. Dr. Langer and his staff were very helpful through this entire process. They assigned me a top physical therapist, Cara, who was great at helping me improve. Now it's just up to me to continue to condition myself back to the way I was physically before the injury, and hopefully I never have to endure any future injuries that lead to surgery. After reviewing my MRI Dr. Langer came into the room, explained what he saw, and told me what needed to be done with the right knee. I actually told him to stop lying and he went out of the room to his computer, pulled up my MRI, and asked me to come take a look, and he explained the MRI to me and brought me back in the room and asked me if I had any questions. Of course I did and he answered. When he was finished he left the room and then his assistant went over more details about the surgery.

Dr. Langer has always been professional, positive, and thorough. I have had to consult him on several occasions for my ongoing ortho needs. He has provided me with recommendations on how to proceed and followed up to make sure the results needed were obtained. He makes sure you include therapy and rehab as part of your treatment plan. I had been playing lacrosse and working out for over 10 years until I tore my labrum in March of 2017. It was then I feared I would never be able to handle physical activity on a high scale again. Thankfully, I was able to find Dr. Langer who did a phenomenal job of repairing my labral tear. It's been almost 2 years since the surgery and my shoulder's even better than it was before. I can say the staff and the doctor were really nice to me and my wife, who was always driving me to the clinic. Even though we are foreign people they were nicer to us. I've been dealing with an injured knee for several years because of a sports injury. Dr. Langer has been very helpful developing exercises that have helped ease the pain considerably. With his help, I may be able to prevent a knee replacement.
